Coach Bussey Retires
after 34 years of Coaching!!
Coach Jeff Bussey Retired this week
after a remarkable career. He coached all over Fairfield County with stints
at Rippowam, Darien, Masuk, Westhill, Christian Heritage, and New Canaan
High Schools. Coach Bussey also coached up in New Hampshire at Austin Cate
Academy.
During his career he has earned 374
wins. He has made the State Playoffs 25 times winning one State title in New
Hampshire, He also has appeared in 20 conference playoffs winning one SWC
Championship while coaching at Masuk High School. He lead Westhill High
School to state semi-finals (1994-95) season which is the deepest Westhill
has ever been in the state tournament. He had a streak of 9 straight FCIAC
appearances from 1990-1997 and 2001.
For 11 seasons Coach Bussey coached
at New Canaan High School. He lead New Canaan to 7 State playoff appearances
with two quarterfinal appearances. New Canaan also had 5 FCIAC appearances
with one getting to the Semi-Finals with a very big upset over the #3 seed
Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers in 2006.
We all thank Coach Bussey for what
he has done in his past and wish him well in everything that is yet to come
in his future!!
